We are looking for

Investigate and rectify running issues and perform planned preventative maintenance to ensure the machinery in the Packhouse runs at maximum efficiency without compromising quality and meet customer requirements and in conjunction with health and safety to meet required standards.

The position

  • Work closely with the Engineer Supervisor, Packhouse Manager, Team Leaders and Line Leaders to understand, investigate and rectify running issues to ensure that we achieve maximum efficiency from our equipment.
  • Liaise with the Production Manager in carrying out preventative maintenance to ensure downtime is kept to a minimum for both breakdown and prevention.
  • Perform and organise regular planned preventative maintenance to ensure downtime due to breakdown is kept to a minimum
  • Work closely with the Line Leaders, Machinery Suppliers and Manufacturers to ensure that we are achieving the maximum efficiency from packing machines and production
  • Ensure that maintenance, servicing and general duties are carried out.
  • Always ensure that machinery is safe to use. Ifat any time a machine is unsafe it must be closed down until it is safe
  • Take an active role in promoting Health and Safety within the factory and on the site.
  • Work closely with all Engineers in MBC to ensure that engineering purchases of equipment and tools are kept to a minimum to perform the work required.

Person Specification

  • A time served multi skilled engineer with electrical bias, with a proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment of frequent change.
  • Ability to prioritise workload as the working situation develops.
  • Has a proactive approach to work as they will need to meet the targets set by the engineering supervisors throughout the shift.
  • Ability to work alongside the shift manager and work their maintenance around production and break times.
  • A keen eye for detail when conducting monthly checks on machinery and processing paperwork.
  • Previous experience in using a stick welder or the ability to be trained in this area.
  • A fully qualified electrician with commercial experience would be desirable.
