In 2023, the IFCO SmartCycle set new records in environmental savings. Thanks to IFCO Reusable Packaging Containers (RPCs), in total more than 658,279 metric tons of CO2-e emissions were saved along the fresh grocery supply chain.
By choosing IFCO RPCs, we are actively participating in the circular economy. Thanks to their unique “share and reuse” model for RPCs, the use of IFCO packaging solutions also helps us cut down on water consumption, energy use, solid waste and food waste, and ultimately reduces the overall environmental footprint of our supply chain operations.
In line with our own commitment to transparency, and to provide reliable and accurate information, IDFO use third-party peer-reviewed Life Cycle Analysis studies based on ISO14044 to scientifically quantify the environmental benefits of our SmartCycleTM.
