We are looking for

A Line Leader to oversee the smooth running of the grading line assigned to you whilst maintaining a high quality standard and ensure the line is running efficiently

The position

  • Complete full start up checks to include recording agency staff on fire register, ensure staff are wearing correct PPE, recording labour down time at start and end of each grading order
  • Record all start up checks and change to and from organic products ensuring an adequate clean down process is undertaken before and after grading runs to avoid any possibility of cross contamination of product
  • Support and guide the Line Operatives and Forklift drivers working on the grading line
  • Ensure the graders have adequate raw material
  • Monitor the quality of the graded product and take necessary action to rectify
  • Utilise the grader performance data to monitor efficiencies and improve team performance
  • Through the LinkFresh System record all activities relating to grading runs accurately, flagging up any “non-scans” of labels or other issues so that they can be resolved in a timely manner.
  • Monitor the reject levels on the graders flagging up any product that demonstrates higher than the target percentage of industrials or wastage to Grader Operations Supervisor, PTE or PTS
  • Ensure grader beds and blades are changed as and when required which involves heavy lifting, and record when changed in the appropriate log
  • At all times, ensure that all colleagues work safely, fully understand and promote all H&S policies and procedures, and competently and efficiently perform their designated roles while adhering to company policies and procedures

  • Initiative-taking approach to work to enable targets to be met with the minimum of downtime
  • Ability to prioritise workload
  • Keen eye for detail when conducting checks on machinery and processing paperwork
