We are looking for
A Raw Materials & Sampling Controller to build a comprehensive sample database by sampling raw material, monitoring quality to support the teaching and classification of onion defects using our neural network, contributing to the improvement of onion quality and the enhancement of the NIR system’s productivity.
The Position
- Create and maintain a raw material sampling schedule
- Process raw material samples and record daily on the appropriate software platform
- Report results of sampling and trends in a structured consistent format in the daily Raw Material/Grader Meeting.
- Upload sample reports onto the grading plan and communicate with the Grader team and other stakeholders with the business to allow informed decisions on how and when to grade crops.
- Regularly inform the technical and commercial teams about the quality of onions in storage to help to communicate to customers.
- Monitor, record and communicate to the management the quality of imported onions from store at Moulton Bulb Site (May to August)
- Assist the Quality Manager and Raw Materials Manager with the Quality Framework Project implementation across the site.
- Enable and promote communication to all relevant parties in regard to product quality and initiatives
- Relief for QA’s and QC’s, as and when required
- Assisting with training and assessments, as and when required
The perfect candidate should have
- Excellent organisational and communication skills; ability to communicate at all levels within the business
- Previous experience of sampling onions would be desirable but full training will be provided
- Good Numeracy skills
- Weekend work may be required during peak times
- Driving Licence (for manual vehicles) an advantage.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures, depending upon season.
